256 colors is 8 bit color - 1 byte per pixel. 640 x 480 = 307200 pixels = 307200 bytes 800 x 600 = 480000 pixels = 480000 bytes. It will usually work for 640 x 480 x 32K colors as well. How do I fix this false detection of an unknown monitor ? The way the monitor is listed is not important... as long as your colors and resolution are OK, that's all you need to worry about. The settings for your *video card *are what you need to set...especially if it's a wide screen.

If I leave the KVM onto the computer with Windows XP, then I will get the correct display (1152x864, 32-bit colors, etc.). Any ideas on why this is happening? Thank you in advance.

Using sharpening this will result in a slightly sharper picture. As you can see the Red and Bleu pixels (positions) get the information of the Bleu and Red colors from quite some distance. The resolution for red only or bleu only is significant less than for black and white.

Perhaps, use the 65c816 instead of an internal 6510 to provide room for additional gfx functionality like more color, resolution and more advance sprites with more color. 64 colors instead of 16 colors. 64x64 pxl per sprite without X-panded mode on or such. Groepaz, some ideas thrown out.

So the indexed color model treats the 8 bits as a number between 0 and 255 to index into a table of colors, where each table entry has a much higher resolution, and the hardware can use the table to draw colors indirectly based on the pixel values. This limits the the total number of high-resolution colors per

CMYK is the standard for process four-color offset printing. Obviously, the amount of yellow mixed with cyan makes it a green. The picture sampled is low resolution and colors are probably way off from the original, higher resolution image. Also, the lighting when the picture was taken can affect the final output.
