It wouldn't let me change them, so I rebooted, and now it stalls at the "loading windows" page. It also wants me to manually login every time windows starts. Ok you can boot to safe mode and lower the resolution and colors then back normally and do not adjust it for now. Sounds like you will have to go to the mfg's

I cannot change the display resolution to anything but 640x480 and I can only choose between 16 colors and 2 colors. My monitor is a standard plug-and-play monitor. I have already gone through the troubleshooting help on the Windows online help page. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks! Noah.

There was no real need for more than 800 x 600 resolution. They were only able to give a maximum color resolution of 16 bits. The even older generaton of cards were only 256 color resolution with 1 meg of ram. With the newer softwares, the demand is for 1024 x 768 as the standard resolution using a 16 meg ram card.
